Film Festival and Bimbam Event - Lights, Camera, Fun
About events
The Department of Visual Communication hosted a Brazilian Film Festival for Coimbatore's film critics and enthusiasts, in collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil and the Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation Chennai. The festival provided students and film buffs with a wonderful opportunity to explore Brazilian cinema over two days. It offered insights into Brazilian films and sparked enthusiasm among the audience to discover more movies of this kind.
BIMBAM is a yearly departmental event where students from various colleges showcase their talents. With a new theme each year, the event undergoes a redesign of its logo and other elements to align with the chosen theme.

Challenges
BIMBAM and the Brazilian Film Festival were separate events, each with its own theme and vibe. The big challenge was bringing people together and giving students exciting experiences, making it feel like a big party. Even though the events had different styles, the aim was the same: to get everyone involved and make it a fun celebration. It took careful planning to make sure both events were special and memorable for students and guests. But by working through this challenge, the organizers made sure everyone had a great time and enjoyed the diverse experiences at both events.
Approach
Two events, one for movie buffs and the other exclusively for students, were organized with different goals. It was ensured that each event attracted its intended audience without losing focus. The movie festival showcased films for cinema enthusiasts, while Bimbam featured activities tailored to students' interests.
Outcome
The team crafted captivating designs for both events, drawing sizable crowds and achieving remarkable success. Working together on design and other tasks, they played a crucial role in ensuring the overall success of the events.
